How to Build a Business For Police Officers

I am Alexander Seery and I am the founder of Shifts to Success…

We are a business training company and we specialise in operating structured business programmes that exclusively support ex and serving police officers, in building a successful business. I was an officer for the Police Service who was based in custody and in 2015 I decided to achieve freedom away my job by building a business that provides me over six figures of income and whole lot more time.

After having been in the police force for a collective 4 years, I speak from experience when I say that officers are feeling less passionate about their jobs on a day to day basis, including myself when I was working in the job… and thats why I built up my business whilst I was working full time, where I have now gained financial independence.

I speak around the UK at business events, I have been featured in one of the UKs top business magazines twice and I’m also mentored by one of the UKs top wealth creation strategist. I am also authoring my first book, Police Officer to Entrepreneur: The Six-Step Method for Building a Succesful Business Beyond The Force.

After speaking to quite a few of my ex colleagues around the UK there always seemed to be 3 problems that came up the most when it came to their issues around their job, which were my issues too! A lack of time, a Lack of income, and heaps of stress!

Just like my colleagues I used to work long unsociable shifts away from my loved ones, counting down the seconds I could clock off shift and get away from the madness and crossing my fingers in the hope that my annual leave would get accepted so I could spend less time in the job and more time to do things I truly want to do…

I used open my wage slip every month and always felt undervalued and under appreciated due to the low salary and sometimes my wages didnt seem to add up to the hours I actually worked and this was very frustrating because I had to give more of my time to rectify this issue.

And of course the stress, dealing with horrific and dangerous situations on a regular basis, putting up with horrible verbal abuse, being spat at, being bitten and other numerous other assaults….and in my case being covered top to toe, in human faeces! All whilst constantly being overworked due to there not being enough staff in the force and having that anxious worrying feeling due to looming complaint hanging in the air from our good intentions as officers!

The reality of these problems is that officers moral is low, they feel institutionalised and handcuffed to the job, thinking that this is just how our life is now and believing that this is just as good as it gets ,with no hope of it getting any better and in fact deep down knowing its only going to get worse…

But I am happy to say it doesn’t have to be this way, there is another path, a path that can provide police officers with way more time to spend with their family & loved ones, A path providing them with WAY more income knowing that they are truly rewarded for their efforts and instead of heaps of unhealthy stress from the job, they can piece together entrepreneurial ideas that are fun and respectable in becoming their own boss!

You see I have developed 6 key areas that police officers who are wanting a better life for themselves and their families need to flourish in, in order to build and sustain a successful business, which are: Ideas, Planning, Implementation Strategy, Personal Branding, Products, and Sales also known as I.P.I.P.P.S.

Which I have put all of this into a 9 month business accelerator which supports and cultivates police officers towards business success!

When they do the Business Accelerator they will do a lot more of what they are good at, they will do more of what they enjoy and they will be much better rewarded for their efforts both personally and financially.

Over the course of the accelerator each of our business mentors will present a series of live training workshops which, combined with an online learning portal provides tools and resources to help support police officers when they are making the transition into entrepreneurship that will ensure that they are provided with accountability, clarity, structure and an environment which their entrepreneurial mindset is cultivated towards business success!

As a result, they will build a business from scratch in an industry they enjoy, accelerating them towards being financially independent giving them another opportunity in life with freedom and choice away from a job they may have lost love for.

I truly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve financial independence without feeling trapped by a job and After speaking to several of my ex colleagues and understanding what they go through with regards to developing PTSD, depression and suicidal thoughts, I want to ensure that it does not happen again to any police officer!

My big vision is to help police officers globally who feel trapped in their jobs, in giving them another option in life, by accelerating them towards business success to ultimately live life on their terms.

I believe there is incredible power at the intersection of specialised knowledge and opportunity and when these two meet, incredible things happen.

Shifts to Success are going to be holding the 9 month business accelerator which will enable police officers to learn in depth about business and entrepreneurship from some of the UK’s top mentors within the I.P.I.P.P.S methodology.

And also we will be covering the 3 entrepreneur essentials, Mindset, energy, and execution ..which will better prepare officers on their exciting journey ahead.

Over the next 9 months on our business accelerators we want to transition and accelerate police officers into entrepreneurship by supporting and encouraging them in building a sustainable business that generates enough income, which ultimately gives them the freedom of choice to leave their jobs.

Immediately they will start to see a different path outside of the force. With a new sense of direction and purpose, knowing that their is an alternative to the path that they currently find themselves on. Whilst gaining confidence in knowing they can build a business that will enable them become their own boss.
